The Hourglass Door

Many people probably haven't heard of this series, and I have no idea why! This was one of the best books I've ever read and I would love to know why no one knows about it! But regardless of whether or not you've heard of it this series was one of the best ever in my opinion. It has an amazing plot and for those who aren't a big fan of fifteen-book-long series congrats! This series is just a trilogy! And, another added bonus, the whole series is completely finished!!! I'm happy to announce that the last book in this wonderful series came out earlier this month so you can finish it in as little time as it takes for you to read them! If that's still not capturing your attention at all here's the synopsis for the first book that caught my eye last year:

His past. Her future. Can love bring them together in time?Abby's senior year of high school is textbook perfect: She has a handsome and attentive boyfriend, good friends, good grades, and plans to attend college next year. But when she meets Dante Alexander, a foreign-exchange student from Italy, her life suddenly takes a different turn. He's mysterious, and interesting, and unlike anyone she's ever met before. Abby can't deny the growing attraction she feels for him. Nor can she deny the unusual things that seem to happen when Dante is around. Time behaves differently when they are together - traveling too fast or too slow or sometimes seeming to stop altogether. When the band Zero Hour performs at the local hangout, Abby realizes that there's something dangerous about the lead singer, Zo, and his band mates, Tony and V. Oddly, the three of them are also from Italy and have a strange relationship to Dante. They also hold a bizarre influence over their audience when performing. And Abby's best friend, Valerie, is caught in their snare. Dante tells Abby the truth of his past: he once worked for Leonardo Da Vinci, helping to design and build a time machine. When Dante was falsely implicated as a traitor to his country, he was sent through the machine more than five hundred years into the future as punishment. As the past and the present collide, Abby learns that she holds a special power over the flow of time itself. She and Dante must stop Zo from opening the time machine's door and endangering everyone's future. More than one life is at stake and Abby's choice could change everything.

Awesome right? Just the cover of the book made it look interesting but this really made me want to read this book and I ended up ordering it about two days later. That's how much I wanted to read it...paying shipping because I couldn't wait until the next time I went to Barnes and Noble. If that still hasn't sealed the deal for you though I also have the book trailer!

Not how I envisioned Dante I'll admit. I'll also admit that I'm keeping the image I got from my imagination when I first read the book as him, because I really don't like the person they picked to be Dante at all.... I don't know, maybe you like him maybe you don't, but I personally don't. But anyway one lapse in judgement on the picking of the actors does not change the fact that these books are wonderful and I absolutely LOVED every single one of them!!!!!!

The Newest in the Iron Fey Series!

This post is about the Iron Fey Series! I absolutely LOVE this series! BEST SERIES EVER!!!!!!For those of you who are currently up to date in reading the series, I'm sure you'll agree that the last book, not ebook mind you, but book, ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. I cried through the last couple chapters of the book, but oddly enough, I was ok with it. A little depressed, but ok, and I think it's mostly because I knew this book was coming out!
AMAZING RIGHT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Wow, I think I have a minor heart attack every time I look at it! Anyway, this is The Iron Knight, the upcoming book in the series. It's going to be released October 25, and currently there's no summary for it, besides that it's Prince Ash's story. But never fear! The author, Julie Kagawa, is going to have a live, online unveiling of the back cover on June, 15. At the moment that's all the information about it but as soon as I know the time and place I will be sure to let everyone know! I'm extremely excited and anxiously waiting for this book! By the way I mentioned something about ebooks at the beginning of this post and there are two, Winter's Passage, book 1.5, and Summer's Crossing, book 3.5. I'm sure some of you don't have ereaders, but there's still hope! There are some websites you can download the books from and you can read them on your computer instead of an ereader, you just have to look for them!

Hey Everyone!!!

Hey guys, my name's Whitney, although in almost everything I put online I go by Whitney J, it doesn't really matter. Anyway, I'm from a little town, as in most people that live in the towns around it say it's in the middle of nowhere. It kinda is but that's not the point. It's big enough to have it's own school but my graduating class only has about forty people in it, if that gives you an idea of the size.
Anyways, getting back to the point, I'm from a little town but I have big dreams. They extend far beyond the borders of my state, and even the U.S. Most of my dreams involve traveling around the world with my best friends, Tristan, Emily, and fellow blogger Ramona. France, England, Italy, Greece....you name it and I probably want to go there, especially if it's in Europe.
My other big dream is to be a photographer/writer. That's one of the reasons I want to travel. There are so many cool things to take pictures of. My friends are definitely my biggest supporters. They believe in me even though right now photographer probably isn't the best career choice. Speaking of those, I know I want to be a photographer, but that's probably not what I'll do. Unfortunately I have some rather expensive tastes that a photographer's general salary can't afford. So that's the dream but probably not the reality. :(
What everyone needs to know about me is I'm a Christian, so you aren't going to see any cuss words or things like that on my blog. If they're on here I can guarantee that I didn't post it. So to everyone reading, please don't put anything like that on here in your comments.
This blog is going to be an extension of my personality, and anyone who knows me knows that I have a book with me at all times. All day, everyday. I read all the time. So this blog is going to be mainly book reviews and news about upcoming book releases. It'll have a lot of information about countries and cities i want to visit too. (Expect a lot of Europe related stuff) I also listen to a lot of music so you might see the occasional music video posted.
I hope you enjoy!
             Love,
             Whitney J
