Hello Blog Universe!
Well it's been over a year since I even looked at this blog so it can be assumed that a lot has changed with me. Most of what was in my original bio is no longer true so I'm going to write a new one.
First of all, I am now a sophomore at Ball State University. At one point I wanted to be a photographer desperately, but that is no longer true. After a very long first year of college, where I entered undecided and learned exactly what a horrible idea that was, I have finally made it through the beginning stages of entering the art department (which involved very little sleep and a summer semester that was hell on earth). In the morning I have the portfolio review that will determine whether or not I am accepted, and the following Monday I have another, separate review that will determine if I get into Visual Communications, which is now my desired major. To be honest I hated college at first but now I've found the department where I belong and I love it.
Some things are the same, I still love reading and music, Netflix and Pinterest are now obsessions, and I have a whole list of shows I'm addicted to. I have many, many reviews to leave about books I've finished recently. Unfortunately with the first year of college and my last year of high school I really didn't read at all but that mercifully changed this summer and I've been devouring them like I used to. I'm still a Christian and I still don't cuss and I don't see that changing ever.
I'm thinking in the near future I'll make a favorites list and work from there as far as posts go. Hopefully I can keep up with it this time and give you all some new ideas for things to get obsessed with!
Love,
Whitney J

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Veronica Roth brought a pleasant surprise with the release of Divergent. Set in a dystopian Chicago, sixteen-year-old Tris has to choose the sector she's going to live in for the rest of her life. Abnegation, the selfless; Amity, the peaceful; Dauntless, the brave; Candor, the honest; or Erudite, the intelligent. Once she chooses she has to fight to keep her place in the sector and prove she made the right choice. She has quite a long way to go before she's ready to show everyone wat she's made of. Through the entire journey she makes some new friends and even meets a handsome instructor called Four and starts to develop feelings for him. He seems familiar to her for reasons she can't quite put her finger on. Then one of the sectors develops a plan to take out one of the others and Tris is one of the only ones able to see through their disguises because she's Divergent.
To find out if Tris can keep her place in the sector she chooses and defeat the evil sector you will have to read Divergent by Veronica Roth. It's a great read that gets five stars from this bookaholic! :)

Timeless by Alexandra Monir
Wow Timeless........I LOVE this book! I'd wanted it ever since I saw it in the "Coming Soon" section of the teen part of Barnes and Noble's website and read the synopsis......It was every bit as good as I thought it would be and more!
Timeless is the story of a girl named Michele Windsor. A tragic accident causes her to have to leave her home in California and move to New York to live with grandparents she's never met. These grandparents happen to be part of one of the oldest families in New York, the Windsors. Michele finds an old key and ends up taking an unexpected trip to the past and meets the boy that's been haunting her dreams since she can remember. She grows closer and closer to the boy she learns something that puts it all in jeapordy...........
To find out what happens you'll have to read Timeless by Alexandra Monir. Out of five stars, I give it ten! This is by far my favorite book and it is a series, but infortunately the next in the series doesn't come out until 2012. :( However, though I'm anxiously awaiting the release, the ending was not so much of a cliffhanger that you're ripping your hair out until next year. All in all, this book is amazing and I highly reccommend it!

The Hourglass Door
Many people probably haven't heard of this series, and I have no idea why! This was one of the best books I've ever read and I would love to know why no one knows about it! But regardless of whether or not you've heard of it this series was one of the best ever in my opinion. It has an amazing plot and for those who aren't a big fan of fifteen-book-long series congrats! This series is just a trilogy! And, another added bonus, the whole series is completely finished!!! I'm happy to announce that the last book in this wonderful series came out earlier this month so you can finish it in as little time as it takes for you to read them! If that's still not capturing your attention at all here's the synopsis for the first book that caught my eye last year:
His past. Her future. Can love bring them together in time?Abby's senior year of high school is textbook perfect: She has a handsome and attentive boyfriend, good friends, good grades, and plans to attend college next year. But when she meets Dante Alexander, a foreign-exchange student from Italy, her life suddenly takes a different turn. He's mysterious, and interesting, and unlike anyone she's ever met before. Abby can't deny the growing attraction she feels for him. Nor can she deny the unusual things that seem to happen when Dante is around. Time behaves differently when they are together - traveling too fast or too slow or sometimes seeming to stop altogether. When the band Zero Hour performs at the local hangout, Abby realizes that there's something dangerous about the lead singer, Zo, and his band mates, Tony and V. Oddly, the three of them are also from Italy and have a strange relationship to Dante. They also hold a bizarre influence over their audience when performing. And Abby's best friend, Valerie, is caught in their snare. Dante tells Abby the truth of his past: he once worked for Leonardo Da Vinci, helping to design and build a time machine. When Dante was falsely implicated as a traitor to his country, he was sent through the machine more than five hundred years into the future as punishment. As the past and the present collide, Abby learns that she holds a special power over the flow of time itself. She and Dante must stop Zo from opening the time machine's door and endangering everyone's future. More than one life is at stake and Abby's choice could change everything.
Awesome right? Just the cover of the book made it look interesting but this really made me want to read this book and I ended up ordering it about two days later. That's how much I wanted to read it...paying shipping because I couldn't wait until the next time I went to Barnes and Noble. If that still hasn't sealed the deal for you though I also have the book trailer!
Not how I envisioned Dante I'll admit. I'll also admit that I'm keeping the image I got from my imagination when I first read the book as him, because I really don't like the person they picked to be Dante at all.... I don't know, maybe you like him maybe you don't, but I personally don't. But anyway one lapse in judgement on the picking of the actors does not change the fact that these books are wonderful and I absolutely LOVED every single one of them!!!!!!
